THE MASHA KEJA SPIRIT IN FIVE WORDS:

MASHA-KEJA_designer

• PARISIAN

The brand was born in Paris, the City of Light, where people from all backgrounds and beliefs co-exist in a perpetual dynamism. ‘Paris brings together the poetic dreamers of the world, who are often oblivious to time,’ smiles the designer. Through her collections of handbags, she offers “key” accessories that add both refinement and functionality to help create the perfect outfit for those dreamers… We also find a unique Parisian touch in the colors. Inspired by the iconic ‘Haussmann’ facades, the timeless off-whites, beige and slate-grey hues are systematically underlined by black.

• PASSIONATE

Passionate about craftsmanship and leather, we love the rare and strive for perfection!

• HAPPINESS

Our work motto: “The joy of making others happy!”

• UNIQUE

As each person is unique, we produce our collections in very limited quantities, allowing you to tailor the finish of certain details of the bag to your individual style.

• MEN AND WOMEN

Our collection is designed for two worlds.

MASHA-KEJA-cannetille-logo

SIGNATURE

Inspired by the sumptuous cannetille embroidery of the Napoleonic era, the designer sought to express the glorious past of this ancestral technique, used mainly in military and liturgical worlds, and to introduce it into the world of beauty and femininity. After long weeks of research and endless sketches, a mythical creature was born, representing a symbiosis of the imperial eagle and the butterfly - symbols of power and femininity. The first collection of six bags, embellished with this embroidered symbol on a canvas base in an XXL size, was presented at the Première Classe show in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris, in March 2009. Meeting with great success, the symbol became a ‘logo’ of the Masha Keja brand.

DESIGNER

A touch of couture in everyday life; beauty that puts us at ease, that embellishes and enchants any time of the day - this what describes the MASHA KEJA style best. This Byelorussian-born designer grew up in an artistic family of engineers. Her mother shared with her a love of beauty, of clothing design and painting. This all led a young girl down a nayural path to the 'Beaux-Arts'. Masha spent her youth in France, in Paris. She took her earliest classes as an apprentice at Lancel, where she discovered the diversity of leathers, fell in love with it, and decided to express her love of design, shapes, colors and materials through her work in accessories. Having started as an apprentice, Masha went on to become Head of Design for Women's Collections, and was the creator of multiple best-sellers for Lancel. A few years later, she relished the challenge of working within exuberant couture, by accessorizing collections for Christian Lacroix. Finally in 2009, with 15 years of experience, she launched her own leather goods brand. It is no surprise that her work has become a symbiosis of the cultural heritage of her native country and French know-how.

Paris inspires her creations for women and men who are uninhibited, urban and nomadic, in search of high quality and a sense of subtle refinement.
